Terms of Service

By accessing or using PreflightSEO (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

PreflightSEO is an SEO migration comparison tool that:

• • Crawls old and new website environments
• • Compares pages field by field (URL, status code, title, H1, canonical, robots meta, etc.)
• • Detects and reports technical SEO regressions and issues
• • Provides results in CSV and JSON export formats

Important limitation: PreflightSEO performs HTML-only crawling. It does not render JavaScript, execute dynamic content, or test Client-Side Rendering (CSR) applications.

To use PreflightSEO, you must:

• • Be at least 18 years of age or have parental/guardian consent
• • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• • Maintain a valid email address for account notifications
• • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
• • Be responsible for all activity on your account

If you share credentials or permit unauthorized use of your account, you remain liable for all activity occurring under that account.

You agree not to use PreflightSEO for:

• • Crawling sites you do not own or have permission to crawl
• • DoS, DDoS, or other attacks on target sites or PreflightSEO infrastructure
• • Circumventing rate limits or security controls
• • Reverse engineering or attempting to exploit the Service
• • Automated scraping or data extraction beyond normal Service use
• • Illegal activities or activities violating local, national, or international law
• • Violating others' intellectual property, privacy, or contractual rights

Violation of acceptable use policies may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

Payment: Subscriptions are processed via Stripe. You authorize us to charge your provided payment method for the selected plan.

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless canceled.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods, except as required by law.

EU statutory rights: If you are a consumer in the EU, you may have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Rights Directive. Please contact [email protected] if you wish to exercise this right.

Price changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Continued use after the notice period indicates acceptance of the new price.

Each subscription tier includes a crawl_limit (maximum URLs per crawl) and rate limits:

• • Free tier: 500 URLs/run, 3 runs/month
• • Starter: 5,000 URLs/run, unlimited runs
• • Pro: 25,000 URLs/run, unlimited runs
• • Agency: 100,000 URLs/run, unlimited runs

Rate limiting: All crawls are subject to 1–2 requests/second per target host to avoid overwhelming servers. Attempts to circumvent rate limits may result in temporary or permanent suspension.

If you exceed your tier's limits or attempt excessive crawling, we may:

• • Throttle your crawl speed
• • Temporarily suspend crawl access
• • Terminate your account

Our IP: PreflightSEO, its design, functionality, algorithms, and reports are owned by PreflightSEO and protected by copyright and trade secret laws. You have a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service as described in these terms.

Your data: You retain all intellectual property rights to:

• • URLs and sites you submit for crawling
• • Reports and data generated by the Service
• • Custom redirects maps and configuration you upload

You grant us a license to use this data only to provide the Service and improve our product (e.g., anonymized analytics).

As-is service: PreflightSEO is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• • Uninterrupted availability or uptime
• • Error-free or complete crawl results
• • Fitness for any particular purpose
• • That the Service will detect all SEO issues

Limitation: We are not responsible for:

• • Missed issues or false negatives in crawl reports
• • Damage to your site from our crawling (within acceptable rate limits)
• • Traffic loss, ranking changes, or other SEO outcomes
• • Third-party services (Stripe, hosting providers, etc.)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PreflightSEO and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

• • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity
• • Damage to reputation or traffic

Cap on liability: Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from or related to these terms or the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid to PreflightSEO in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Exception: This limitation does not apply to liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or gross negligence.

By you: You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it or contacting [email protected].

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:

• • You violate these Terms of Service or our Acceptable Use policy
• • You fail to pay subscription fees
• • We are required to do so by law
• • We discontinue the Service

Upon termination: Your access to the Service ends immediately. We may retain backups of your data for 30 days, but deleted data cannot be recovered.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dutch courts.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of PreflightSEO after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.

These Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PreflightSEO regarding the Service and supersede all prior negotiations, representations, or agreements.
